No more Dollars in Seoul ? *)

Yesterday we heard that South Korea would no longer accept US Treasury bonds because the yields were so low. My immediate thought was, "Good excuse, but the real reason was probably that South Korea no longer wanted US paper." Again, I'll repeat that the Achilles Heel of the US is the reserve status of our dollar. Should the dollar lose or even start to lose its reserve status, we'd be in huge trouble. Borrowing from our overseas friends would immediately become more difficult and interest rates would have to head higher.

Dollar-Kredite müssen allerdings bei 'stabilen Banken' dargestellt werden,
